What a perp trade
really costs.

Pick a position size and how you trade. The table shows the cost of opening and closing that position on every perp DEX we track, using each venue's published base-tier fees, plus one day of funding where we have it. Spread and price impact are not included — they can matter as much on thin books.

Reading the numbers

Fees are small percentages, which is why traders ignore them until leverage multiplies the position. A 0.045% taker fee on a $10,000 position is $4.50 to open and $4.50 to close; at 20× that is 0.9% of your margin per round trip, before funding or slippage. Maker orders are cheaper almost everywhere, but only fill when price comes to you. The funding comparison shows the other half of the cost of holding; DEX trading fees: maker/taker & pool fee explains the terms.

Frequently asked questions

What does the calculator include?
The venue's published base-tier maker and taker fee applied to opening and closing the position (a round trip), plus, where we have it, one day of funding at today's rate. It excludes spread, price impact, gas and volume-tier discounts, which can matter as much as the fee itself on thin books.
Why can the maker figure be negative?
Some venues pay a rebate to orders that add liquidity to the book. A negative round-trip cost means you would be paid to trade, if both your open and close fill as maker orders — which is not guaranteed.
Is the cheapest venue the best?
No. A 0% fee on a venue where the spread is 0.05% is more expensive than 0.03% on a venue with a 0.01% spread. Use the calculator to rule out expensive venues, then check liquidity and open interest on the ranking.
Where do the fees come from?
From each venue's official fee documentation, checked on the date shown on its profile. Zero-fee and growth-mode rates are the rates users pay today; base rates can be higher, as noted on the profile.
